Antonina Fedorowna Sofronowa

(Droskovo 1892 - 1966 Moskau)

Sofronova studies in Moscow with Fyodor Rerberg and Ilya Mashkov. After the war, she teaches at the State Art Schools in Tver and Orel. Starting in 1922, she makes geometric works in lucid colors that are informed by the creative principles of Constructivism and Suprematism. She also designs books and magazines. In the mid-1920s, she turns to landscape painting and drawings that capture scenes of urban life in Moscow.
